Le nom de ce projet, "les monts analogues", est inspiré du roman de René Daumal, qui, lui, s'intitule "le mont analogue". Il s'agit du récit imaginaire d'une expédition lancée à la découverte d'une montagne dont le sommet serait la fronti�re, la porte d'entrée vers un ailleurs, un autre monde, inconnu et invisible. Les personnages de ce roman sont des hommes soucieux d'atteindre d'autres niveaux de compréhension, cherchant, espérant trouver un autre point de vue, une autre réalité.
Ironie du sort, ou mise en abîme funeste, le roman est resté inachevé, René Daumal disparaissant avant d'en finir les derniers chapitres. De ce fait, le monde supposé du mont analogue est resté insondable, pour les protagonistes du livre comme pour les lecteurs, et finalement, on ne peut, pour ce roman, imaginer meilleure fin : celle qui n'en est pas une.

Le livre s'interrompt par une phrase restée en suspend, ou demeure une virgule seule, qui laisse supposer une suite qui ne verra jamais le jour, et dont la portée poétique nous mè�ne au silence, nous laisse seulement avec la part de l'inach�vement. En écho à cette histoire, ce travail, imaginé comme un ensemble de photographies, s'intèresse à cette part qui nous manque pour mieux comprendre le monde. Cette sensation de finitude devant l'immensité du monde, la multitude de connaissances qu'il nous reste à atteindre, sont les grandes lignes qui guident ce travail, qui s'intéresse à la question du cheminement, de la traversée, de l'invisible, de l'incomplétude.

Le mot analogue, lui, renvoie à celui de similitude, au sentiment d'appartenance, cette ressemblance qui nous renvoie cette impression : comme s'il l'on avait déjà vécu cet instant.

THE ANALOGOUS MOUNTAINS photographies, variable formats, 2022-2026

The name of this project, "The Analoguous Mountains", is inspired by René Daumal's novel, "The Analoguous Mountain". It tells about the fictional story of an expedition launched to discover a mountain whose summit is the border, the gateway to another place, another world, unknown and invisible. The characters in this novel are men desiring to reach deeper levels of understanding, searching and hoping to find another perspective, another reality. Ironically, or perhaps tragically, the novel remained unfinished, René Daumal passing away before completing the final chapters. Consequently, the supposed world of the Analogue Mountain has remained unfathomable, both for the book's protagonists and for readers, and ultimately, one cannot imagine a better ending for this novel: one that is not an ending at all. The book ends with a suspended sentence, or perhaps just a single comma, suggesting a continuation that will never materialize, its poetic weight leading us to silence, leaving us only with the element of incompleteness. Echoing this story, this work, conceived as a series of photographs, explores this missing piece that hinders our understanding of the world. This sense of finitude face to the world's immensity, the multitude of knowledge yet to be attained, are the guiding principles of this work, which delves into the themes of journeying, traversing, the invisible, and incompleteness. The word "analogous" evokes similarity, a feeling of belonging, a resemblance that gives us the impression of having already experienced this moment.
